My records show your gun was made in 1958. We don't evaluate guns since we can not handle them. Suggest you look up in BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES. Jay Huber RSA

Thank you for your help, but somehow I am confused. The gun has the honeycomb buttpad and I thought they did not have those in 1958. I was digging thru some of the other posts in this forum and found something that said the "S" in the front of the serial number put this gun somewhere between 1968 and 1974. And a barrel code of "AY" should put it at March of 1974 if I read the artikel correctly. Can you clearify that for me. Now I did take this gun out to the Range yesterday and man this gun is smooth.

That is what my records say for the serial. They do not refer to the S and here in my lay the proper dating. I think you have developed better info yourself. The barrel date tells part of the story. Understand that the barrel date only refers to the date the barrel was made and not necessarily to the date the gun was assembled. Jay
