What do I have?
What do I have?
I inherited a 12 gauge double shotgun from a neighbor in 1999. It has Remington Arms Co and a serial number of 323795. The stock is walnut with no checks in the finish. I believe it was purchased in Missoula Montana. My neighbor inherited it from her mother who inherited it from her Father. I spoke to Ed @ Remington and he thinks I have a 1894 shotgun. I live in Auburn WA and would like to take it somewhere local to see if it is a 1894 and it's value.
Re: What do I have?
mdelam,,From the serial number your double is a 1900..not a 1894..
Does your gun have a snap forend? The serial is one way to tell.
The snap forend is another, there are other little things..The
Model 1900 was made from 1900 to 1910 your gun made about
1902..This is a start for you.

Re: What do I have?
Thanks for the info. After doing a little more investigation I found out I have a Model 1900 KED 12 ga dual trigger with auto ejectors and safety. It's got a 28" barrel and the Damascus is very clear on the barrel. Woudl you take it to a gun shop for apprasial?

You'd probably be much better off taking it to D.J.'s Sport and Pawn in Bothell, on a day that Bruce is in. Far better gun guys then the average clerk at the big C. The expertise in the Gun Librarys has really gone down hill since Wes defected to Julias.
