I have a 16 gauge 870 with a date code on the barrel ODD can anyone tell me what year it was made. It looks like the O is July but I don't see a DD code for the year. It's an older 870 with the corn cob forearm and plain stock.

Remingtion firearms manufactured after 1921
Remingtons manufactured after 1921 have a code located on the left side of the barrel near the frame that identifies the year and month of manufacture. The following letters correspond to the months of the year, for example B=January, L= February and so on:
