Hi how are ya?
I hope someone can help me.
I have a new toy for cowboy action shooting
I have just got a 10 ga (Coach) 20 inch damascus doubble barrel with hammers.
I think it was made about 1882. Each hammer is different.
The serial number is 12640. The patent dates are
Aug 9 1871
Apr 10 1872
The other numbers under the barrels are 38 and 62
It has a steel butt plate not engraved.
The guns finish is almost all gone
The damascus finish could be what is called a
“Boston N.” "Two Iron Horse-shoe pattern' I am not sure
The top rail has E. Remington & Sons I LION N Y on it
I think it is a grade 3 or maybe 4
It has a wood looking rubber part (or maybe its wood) shape, built in the forearm tip.
It has checkering on the forearm and pistol stock.
It locks up tight, functions well, and shoots real good.
I shot black powder loads in it.
They were 2 3/4 dram 1 1/8 oz shot.
I did not have a problem.
I like it.
The wife calls it Mr Shorty
Can anyone tell me when this gun was made?
Can anyone tell me any info about the gun?
Thanks so much for your help
Till next time take care and have a nice niteZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz
