Great site!
Here is another one to add to the list.
Mine's a 721 30-06 ser 281XX 24" barrel. (ATT code, Mar 1948) S/N in rail.
Traded a real nice P-17 Eddystone for it years ago as I was getting back into hunting after too many years in the navy. The only thing bad about it, is the gentleman I traded from had cut the stock down somewhat, so I added a Kick-EZ pad to bring up the length. I've been taking it out for my annual "walk in the woods" for about 10 years now.
I refinished the stock and added Uncle Mike swivels (the holes were already there) and am using a Leopold 4X scope to see better.
I'll try and post some pictures when my kids show me how.

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg
I have one in possession, two coming. Ill update this when they get here. One will be awhile but I have photos. While not the "collectors" they would be in factory originals.....I'm happy with them. Thought you all might like to see as well. Ill add photos of the 222 mag next weekend.
Custom Fajen stocked 722 barreled action. Serial number 102xxx, Assembly code LWW, factory blue, mint. Please ignore scope, was borrowed to test it before buying one.

One on the way. Supposedly 1948 721. Rem Custom shop restock/refinish 30-06. Ill update serial and assembly code later on.

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg
If REM725 would like to add my rifle to his list he may - it is a 725 30-06 Serial number 7158XX with what seems to be a date code of A F.
I say seems because the "A" is only showing the upper part of the "A"; the feet to the "A" never got stamped. Looks like an A frame house.
After the code is what seems to be a "41" as well. What does that mean?

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg
Photo and info off my 722 Rem in 222 mag.......and some questions??? Hopefully someone has some idea.
Serial number is 4260XX. Assembly code is I THINK L G but the L could be an A so either Feb or March 1960. Serial number falls in place in the "master list" comparing serial numbers and Assembly codes so should all be original. Trigger is wider than those I've seen before.
QUESTIONS
1. WHEN did Remington STOP having the "hump" in the barrel where rear sight is on the 722s?
2. This rifle IS a BDL, CORRECT? According to info provided here and on Remington website, the BDLs were NOT made after 1959.
3. Checkering changes. Has anyone documented the checkering pattern changes thru the years? This is obvioulsy upper grade wood as a BDL should be and checkered but checkering changed after Remington no longer made the AC and B grades by what I find.
4. WHAT is a "transition" model?
thanks all (BTW I'M TICKLED ####LESS to find this rifle!!!
Appreciate the help and THIS POST. So GREAT!!ANY info is greatly appreciated!!

The barrel "hump" went away with the switch to "transition" 721s and 722s and the start of 725s. Our list shows the earliest transition that I saw myself and submitted to the list. Transitions had barrels 2" shorter and the rear sight became a screw on base type, like the soon to be 700s.
Your stock might be a factory up scale one. hard to tell. The trigger is not right I believe it might be a 700 trigger and safe, or an aftermarket.

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg
Thanks. I thought the same on the trigger and will replace it with the original in time or trade it out with the one off the 1950 Fajen stocked one since already not original.
Stock checkering is same as I've seen in a couple now and by your description mine IS a transition one? Regular screw in rear sight. I guess my photos dont show that.
Barrel is 24 inch and Rems site info only shows them ever made in 222mag in 22 and 24?
thanks
Steve
