Remington 25-rd magazine for Model 597

I finally got around to taking the 597 out to the range today to check out the 25-rd Remington magazine I had purchased for it. Overall I was disappointed in it's performance. Out of a 25-rd magazine every 2-3rd shot was a FTF. I had to take the magazine out and reinsert it-it would then be good for 2-3 more shots then another failure to feed. It appears the magazine spring isn't strong enough to feed the bullets into the chamber. The bullet just sits in the same position and won't move no matter how many times I pull the bolt back. Is there any way to make the spring stronger, replace the magazine spring with a better spring, or adjust the magazine to alleviate this problem? Thanks
