Hi,I don't think the 1882 is the 87 and 89 are you said interchangeable they almost never fit right one way or another and gauge makes a difference.

I should have known that the gauges would have to be the same. When looking at the various pictures of the 1882/1885/1887 and 1894 they appear very much the same.

Regardless of all this, I have a butt stock for one of the those model shotguns. A friend of mine gave me this old relic thinking I could use something off of it. The barrels are bad but the butt stock is in excellent physical condition with the exception of the finish. Take the finish off and it would be a great find for someone.

Thanks for the reponse.

Hello: I have the complete gun (12 gauge) with the exception of the hammers and forearm. The barrels (32")are poor---they're steel laminated but the rest of weapon appears to be in good condition. As a hobby I work in wood and I feel that the butt stock is in very good condition---no noticeable dents, scratches nor cracks. The checkering appears to be #28 and in good condition. The stock is dirty--needs to be stripped and redone. The original butt plate is there with a tiny piece (chip)out of the toe. The receiver has no finish but appears to be in good condition as well as the trigger group. The gun I believe is a 2 grade. I have encased the metal parts in WD40 just to give them some lubrication.

My zip code is 49840, Upper Peninsula of Michigan and I assume the weight to be in excess of 12 pounds. Figure what the shipping cost will be to you and than make me an offer. If I haven't provided enough information email me with questions. Thanks, Carl
