I pulled out the bolt on this rifle about a year ago. I went to put it back in and met a great deal of resistance. It looked like it was bending a tab (with 2" to go). Anyway, after a few more trys the tab broke and the bolt still has another 1/2 to go. Any experts out there ?? What to do ?? value of old 22 ?? I'm not a gun guy.

This advice is a little late for you. If it requires force to put a gun together, don't use it unless you have training in that particular model. Almost all guns require little or no force to assemble after take-down. Since a part of the gun has been bent or broken you firearm will no longer function as designed. It now needs to be taken to a gunsmith for adjustment or repair. I would just make a whild guess that you tried to insert the bolt with the safe on, and without holding the trigger back. As for the value, if the firearm doesn't work, it isn't worth much untill it is repaired. So ask your smith if it is worth the money to have it repaired. It's a hard lesson to learn but you are not alone. Every gunmith I know will tell you story after story of repair that had to be done after an owner was done taking apart or putting together a gun.

you need to get it to a gunsmith, you got a major breakage. if want to sell the magazine let me know.
