1902 Rolling Block #5 Carbine Broken Forend Question

Hello everyone. New person here.

I own a 1902 Remington rolling block 7x57 MMM #5 Carbine. My father had it hanging on a wall as a decoration in his man cave for decades until he passed away. I inherited the gun And stored it away in my gun safe for years before finally getting it out. The wood is pretty beat up but salvageable. The rifle bore has some pitting but the rifling is clear and free of rust. The firing mechanism is is incredible shape, considering, and works like a charm. I have not checked the headspace yet to see if it's safe to fire. But, I've decided I want to try and restore this gun. I have other older rifles that are more valuable than this one so I figured I try the restoration process on this one first. I am very adept at the inner mechanical workings of a wide array of firearms but I'm a rookie wood worker.

My first problem is the forend upper stock broke completely in half when I took the metal brackets off each end (see photos). It is a pretty clean break that fits together so well that when I put it back together using the metal brackets you wouldn't see the crack it if you weren't looking for it. As you would expect the wood is pretty dry. I have cleaned the outer surfaces clear of grime and grease using mineral spirits and gave a liberal amount of acetone to The exposed surface of the cracks To remove any oil. Being the upper part of the forend stock it didn't have much oil on it to begin with. This will have to be a glue job that is held together by the end brackets. The wood is too thin to drill for dowels.

I'm looking for guidance on what to use to glue this piece together. I've seen everything from Gorilla Glue to Titebond to acraglas. Everybody has an opinion.Any help would be much appreciated.
