Appraisal for Sale

Post by tlgoodman921 »

I have a model 1889 Shotgun, double barrel ten gauge with flintlock hammers. Serial number is 81575, indicating manufacture year of 1898.

Damascus barrels, everything is in extremely good condition. Original owner family.

Should fire without any issue; however, I am not going to attempt this because I cannot find a source with the correct ammunition to use.

Zero rust anywhere. All parts original with matching serial numbers.

Family history indicates gun fired less than five total times.

I live in Maryland and am interested in having the gun graded and appraised for insurance purposes. I am also interested in potential sale.

There is a Maryland Arms Collector’s Association that has a couple of shows a year in Baltimore. I would start by contacting their group and go from there.

Since it was made in 1898 you do not need to go through a FFL dealer to ship across state lines as far as federal laws are concerned if you decide to sell. Of course there are several states that may require a FFL and/or FOID card.
