Remington 141 Game Master Age by Serial Number
A 141 Game Master was handed down to me and I would like to know how old it is. I have tried using the Remington Firearm Identification code on the left side of the barrel just ahead of the receiver, but there are a couple of options. It could have been made in August of 1937 or August of 1959. So I was hoping to be able to identify the gun's age by the serial number. However, I have not found a way to do that on the internet. Please let me know if anyone knows of a way to be sure which one it is by the serial number.

Can you share a picture of the barrel date code? Unfortunately the RSA does not have an extensive serial number list for production dates. The RSA was never allowed full access to the production records from Remington.

Since they quit making them in 1950, I would go with 1937.

You might want to reach out to experts or firearm forums for specific information regarding the serial number of your Remington 141 Game Master. Some resources or websites specializing in antique firearms may provide detailed guidance on how to determine the age based on the serial number. stickman hook

Looks like you’re in one of the tricky overlap years for Remington date codes. The serial number alone usually won’t give an exact year on a Model 141, but features like the buttplate, sights, and stock checkering can help tell a 1937 apart from a 1959 pretty quickly. Posting a couple of clear photos would probably let collectors narrow it down fast.
