Model 700 Classic Euro 7x64 Brenneke

Post by marshfellow »

Does anyone have any info on the 700 Classic Euro 7x64 Brenneke. I cannot find any Remington information on the gun. Just bought one. New in Box. Appreciate any help. Thanks, Tom tjw@foxriversporting.com

I don't know anything about this version, I did find the following quote online, I don't know if it's accurate.

"These guns were a special run for the European market in the 1990s when I was working there (Remington). Never offered on the U.S. market. A small quantity of over-run guns were offered to employees."

Thanks Mainspring. I did seen that online. I cant find any reference or listing from Remington on that gun/caliber as I originally mentioned. Classy looking, light & dark laminate stock with hard Remington logo buttplate instead of the everpresent recoil pad.
The fellow that I bought it from said his Dad bought it from a Remington employee so that jives. I live only about 20 miles from the Ilion Plant (rest in peace) so alot of really great stuff has appeared in my 50 yrs of chasing. Tom

Hey Tom, congrats on the find! That's a rare bird. I haven't personally handled a 700 Classic Euro, but I've heard they're beautifully crafted. Info can be scarce. Have you tried connecting with other enthusiasts in online shooting communities? You might find someone with specific knowledge there. Speaking of online communities, for a bit of lighter shooting, check out Basketball Stars; it’s a fun little game I play when I need a break. Good luck with your search!

Thanks for that info 6ooRemGuy. On another note, do you collect 600s/660s? Do you have any 16 1/2" examples of either/both? t

600s mostly. Have a 660 in 350RM only as I believe it was rarely fired if at all-was my first 350RM. I snap up older odd 700s as well. 2 in a 7mm like you but the 7mm-06Rem. Nothing in the 600 series w/16.5" barrel. Can't say I've ever heard of such an animal.
