Remington FE trigger guard?
Remington FE trigger guard?
Was the trigger guard color cased or blued?
Re: Remington FE trigger guard?
I believe they were blued. However Remington would build to the customers wishes.

From my years of observations I'd say the K Quality guns and the A-Grades had case hardened top-levers and trigger guards. Everything higher had nitre blued top-levers and trigger guards.

Thanks! Working on a very nice FE restoration. A few variations: regular 1894 butt plate, no center bead.
The wood is FAR nicer than any FE or B grades Iv'e seen. Stock dimensions are FE too as well, the barrel is marked "Trap Gun F Grade" 30" FxF

Re: Remington FE trigger guard?
The addition of a mid-bead or a set of Lyman Twin Ivory sights would have been extra cost options.
I have found no mention of sights in any of the grade listings in any of the catalogs I have covering the years the Remington Hammerless Doubles were built. Pretty safe to assume they all came "standard" with just a metal bead front sight.
