I was given a old Remington semi auto shotgun by my brother in law who has since passed. The gun was his fathers. On the top barrel it says Manufactured by the Remington Arms Co, Browning Patents. There are no model numbers anywhere on the gun. There is an RP in a oval on the right side of the barrel. O the bottom of the barrel it says "Mod" and what appears to be )7). The serial number is stamped 96XXX on the bottom of the barrel and on the receiver. The safety is in the trigger guard. It appears to be an early model 11. There is no barrel rib.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Remington question
I'm guessing a Model 11. All versions of the safety on the M11 are in the trigger guard, the earliest was in front of the trigger and later they were behind the trigger. Pics will help confirm.
