.32 Model 4 Rolling Block

Post by rsanford »

My nephews' dad has a .32 Model 4 Rolling Block with a serial number of 43685. I told them I would try to find out a little about when this was manufactured and is it safe to shoot with modern ammo. I know condition is important but what would an approx. value be, assuming average condition. If anyone can provide this info without too much trouble, they are very anxious to find somehting out. Thanks.

I don't have my detailed info available so I can't give you the exact year of production, but It was made in the early 1890s. Is it safe to shoot? Take it to a gunsmith for that answer. I wouldn't try to determine if a 50 year old gun was safe without seeing it. One that is over 100 years old is even riskier... For value, check the Blue Book of Gun Values. It will show values for the different levels of condition. It's just not possible to place a fair value on a gun without seeing it.

Hope this limited info helps.
