I am a new member. I have a real problem and I am looking for some help. I was given a Zytell model 76 22 rifle. There is a long story about the guy that gave me the gun. I have owned this gun since 1964. It is a prized possession.
Two weeks ago I took it to a well known gunsmith to have it cleaned.
I had been advised by a previous gunsmith now deceased that there were some cautions when cleaning this model gun. Anyway he cleaned it and it worked well for many HS students.
The new gunsmith said he was very familiar with the gun and would be glad to clean it. The day I was supposed to pick it he called me with bad news. He had cleaned the gun as asked. During test firing the first two rounds worked fine. The third one split the stock. I need a replacement stock, Mohawk brown. For the record the gunsmith has been a gentleman through the whole thing. I hope someone can
can help me with this.

That stock will most likely be difficult to locate. Keep a constant check on auction sites and check frequently with any of the used parts sources.
