I have an old Remington black powder muzzle loading rifle. I'm wondering if some one could tell me how old it could be and if it is an original. My dad had the gun my hole life. I'm now 71. I own the gun now and plan to hand it off to my son.
I'm a new member and do not know how to attach a picture.

Re: Old black powder rifle
There's an interesting article on muzzleloadingforum.com showing a half stock rifle. The barrel, lock and patch box are stamped Remington.
I believe that Remington started about 1816 making barrels. These I assume were sold to gunsmiths.
Pictures would be helpful.

That is freaking beautiful If I only had the money to have picked one of these up
Are you still doing the other version you have? If so, could you post some pics?
