Hello all — I have a Remington Double Derringer that belonged to my father (which he got from his father) and think I have determined when it was made but wanted to ask you guys if I am correct. I am thinking that this is a fourth model, first version, and would have been the 44th one made? So early 1911?
Thanks for any help you can give on figuring this out!
Remington Double Derringer question
Re: Remington Double Derringer question
Hi Abernathy,
Sorry for the late reply. You are correct in that this DD was the 44th. one with the joined barrel marking. Made in 1911, probably in the first week of production, There were only 2,999 DDs serialized that way, before the L prefix was added to the serial number.but the DD book lists 3,636 as the number made that year meaning 637 DDs were made in 1911 before the barrel marking changed.
