I currently have a rolling block rifle that I acquired in Saudi Arabia. It has very few markings on it. I'm trying to find out it's origin. There are no date stamps or serial numbers on any of the components. The most prominent marking is a symbol stamp on the barrel near the stock. Description is from rom top to bottom. Top symbol is what looks like the letter M with a symbol of something extruding up from the middle of the M (Can not determine what it is) I assume that this may be the Inspector's symbol. Below that symbol is the letter R, with what looks like a crown above and a pillar or column below . Is this the Remington symbol or hallmark? Below that are the letters E on top of LG in a pyramid shape. There is a crown above the letters and what could be a cross below the letters. I assume that this represents the country of manufacture. Can anybody direct me to where these symbols are documented? I'm running out of places to look. From a message in this forum from George J Layman, England remanufactured some barrels from the Egyptian contract, due to financial difficulties and measurement problems, for the Spanish contract. I'm guessing that this mark may be related to that remanufacturing process. The only other marking is stamp on the trigger mechanism, the number 37 is stamped twice on it.
Can any body confirm this or have any information as to what year this process happened? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Would you please be king enough to post some high quality pics of the rifle and markings? Also is there a serial number on the lower tang?
