Hello,
I'm new here. I inherited some firearms from my Father.
One is a model 10A pump action, serial number U 145157. It has a ribbed forearm. A 12 ga I get from what little I can find on google.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me the date of manufacture, the present value, and recommend what to do with it, like is it practical to shoot?

Re: model 10-a
The best guess serial number chronology says 1916. There is little to no interest in these entry level old pump guns, hence they draw very little in the marketplace unless in absolutely mint condition for the collector. Average Model 10 A "Standard" Grade sits for quite a while in the local pawn shops with a $175 price tag and can be gotten out the door for less. The vent ribbed Trap Gun and the engraved D, E and F Grades have collector interest.
As far as shooting, if it works, enjoy it. If it gets out of whack no one left alive has the knowledge or the parts to put it right.
