A few days ago I purchased a 742 WoodsMaster 6mm and I have been researching this particular rifle from a few different sources. I have determined from the date code that my rifle was manufactured in May of 1969, but I am having trouble identifying the grade. On the remington website listed on the firearm history page for this model there is a list of grades that were offered for this model. Listed there are:
742A Standard
742ADL Deluxe
742BDL Deluxe
742CDL Deluxe Carbine
742C Carbine
On my receiver, 742 is all that is engraved, so I am wondering how I can determine what grade my rifle is. I have already ruled out carbine due to barrel length. Due to the pattern in the stock and forearm, I know it falls in the A category. How can I tell if it is standard or deluxe? Assistance is appreciated!
