When was my Model 8 Made?

I picked this up recently at an auction. The serial is 424XX, which I believe dates it around 1917 or so. I base this solely on reading other posts where people have confirmed dates by serial numbers. Can someone confirm this for me?

Here are some pictures of it before I cleaned it up. I think I did well. I have some ammo on the way for it as well as some Redding dies, so I should be set.


Anyone have a PDF of a takedown for this?

424XX translates to about August 1920. Looks like a very nice example of a metal buttplate model 8. Show it off here http://thegreatmdl8.proboards79.com/
