I recently received a Remington made Dainish M1867 contract rolling block
and when I removed the butt stock, there weren't any tang numbers on
the left side of the tangs. I never have seen a military Remington Rolling
Block without them before. After some cleaning, I did find them but they
were not on the side of the tangs but were on the underside of the tangs
(the one on the lower tang was hidden behind the hammer spring).
Does anyone know when Remington started putting lot/batch/fitting numbers
on the left side of the tangs?
