1894 Forend Help

I have just taken in this old 1894. I know I am missing some parts on this forend iron but cannot identify them as I have no reliable diagrams or pictures. If anyone here has these pictures or diagrams please post them for me so I can repair this forend iron. Thanks for your help. If you need more pictures of this shotgun, let me know. Thanks Randy

What you have is a model 1900 - not an 1894. The confusion arrises because the same patent dates are stamped on the forearm iron for both models. The serial numbers for 1900s begins with a 3 (3xxxxx) while the 1894 start with 1 (1xxxxx). Your 1900 was made in the last year of production - 1910. The 1900 (or K grade) was offered in four versions and should be stamped on the barrel.

K - Rem steel barrels
KE - Rem steel barrels with ejectors
KD - Damascus barrels
KED - Damascus barrels with ejectors

As for missing parts - all seems to be there except I don't see the small spring mounted on the wood. Unless there are broken parts in the ejector section I don't see any problem.

I do see a missing part. It's a threaded flat steel plate that slips into the wood at the rear. It's there to attach the rear of the iron. Shouldn't be hard to fabricate if you cannot find one. I can send a pix if needed.

Here's the pics. Looks like the mortice used to hold metal plate is missing. Note: No metal protrudes out the bottom of the wood.
