Remington-UMC .410 Box circa 1921
Remington-UMC .410 Box circa 1921
Would anyone know what "Special No 306CX" means? A fellow collector and I suspect probably loaded with 6C, another collector thought CX was a code for New Castle Shot, a UK product that was suppose to retain its spherical shape better, none of us are sure though. Photo's attached, box is sealed so I can't view the shells. Thanks

Re: Remington-UMC .410 Box circa 1921
It is an early 1920s box from shortly after the company became Remington Arms Co., Inc. In those years our ammunition manufacturers were experimenting with applying progressive burning smokeless powder, developed during The Great War, to shotgun shells. Certainly no clue in the 1923 Remington catalog --
