Does Remington have a History letter
Re: Does Remington have a History letter
Hi Frank,
Sadly, there are few, if any known factory records. Neither Rem, nor the RSA can give a letter. There will be a two letter date code on guns made in 1922 or later, so if your gun has them, it tells the month and year shipped. For now, that's the best there is.
These are great shooting guns, enjoy it!
Good luck,
Dan

Re: Does Remington have a History letter
Thank you Dan and you are correct the pistol shoots fantastic gun from what I can tell was made 1925 which makes it 95 years old. It does have maybe 20 freckles throughout the top of the slide some Have started to pitting on the slide but what krill oil and a little brass wool I've corrected it and taken out any of the rust. I don't want to do any more to it because like I said for a 95 year old woman she's fine looking. I disassembled it and from what I can tell I don't think it was shot at all. It must have sent in a nightstand for years. I know gangsters love these pistols it'd be really great if I could get the history of it
