Is there any way of establishing provenance on a unique M3200? The gun is the first (only?) two barrel set produced (SK/SK, and F/M). I know the history of the gun, as my father ordered it (he was a Remington Director at the time). Remington was no help in trying to provide some data on the gun when i tried about 10-15 years ago, and now that Big Green has been several more owners, I'm sure there's no one there who could help.
Thanks

It appears as if no one has a good answer to your question. I gave it some thought and came up with a couple of ideas. You may have thought of them already. If your father is still alive, I would have him make a certified affidavit giving all the details of his purchase. You know that the model was made from 1973 to 1984 and there should be a date stamp on the barrels. Checking catalogs of the year of manufacture to see if a two barrel set was offered might help. From what I was able to find on the Remington Arms site, the serial numbers started at 4,220 and went to 48,000 and had a OU prefix. That indicates there was no change in serial number ranges for the diffrent versions of the 3200. Stating the obvious, if there wasn't a two barrel version, you have a custom ordered shotgun. In this case a very nice one.

My Dad passed away many years ago. The story is rather complicated, as he told it, but basically, this gun was used as the protoype for the 4 barrel skeet sets. To my knowledge, they never cataloged a two barrel set, and the only multiple barrel guns I'm aware of (besides the skeet sets) have Simmons barrels
