The 1100 Classic Trap my buddy won last month doesn't have the familiar letter date code on the left side of the barrel that we are used to seeing.
Has anyone else with a recently purchased gun seen this?
We figured the gun is a late 2006 manufacture by a rough timeline from purchase by the club who used it as a draw prize.
My 1100 Classic Trap that I bought in Dec. 2005 clearly carries a Sept. 2005 date code so it was in use in 2005.
I am speculating either my buddy's gun was missed in the system or perhaps the practice of using the code has been discontinued.
Date Code On Barrel Discontinued?
Possible, but; the gun has the newer style coarse knurling on the rib and that new, little tiny bead that some of us fussy ol' trap geezers don't likerem141 wrote:Date codes were suspended for a few years 1999-2001 but as far as I know they are currently being stamped on every gun. It is possible that the gun you mention was made during those years and sat for some time in distribution or at a dealer before being offered on a raffle.

Mine is coded Sept. 2005 and it has a nice, fine milled rib surface.
So we have what appears to be a newer style barrel w/o the markings.
I have addressed the question to the Remington Custormer Support site and will post the reply when I get it.
I received confirmation today from Remington that they are still using the date code.Claydust wrote:I have addressed the question to the Remington Custormer Support site and will post the reply when I get it.
Either my buddy's gun missed the marking or this ol' geezer needs to put his reading glasses on and have a good look at that barrel
