I recently inherited an 11-48 / .410 that appears to be in good order. I would like to remove the firing pin assembly to clean it, but I am not surre how this is done. Any help?

The NRA Firearms Assembly #3 covers it. It is fairly complicated and you might be better off to see about sending it back for a factory cleaning or by a gunsmith.
Could also just spray the be-jeussus out of it with gun-cleaner gunk. I use Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber and it does a good job.
If you do it on your own, make sure your screwdriver tips are a match for the slots. Some of those old guns have strange sizing on the screws and pins.
Also have a bunch of dixie cups or something handy and put each part you remove into its own numbered cup for "assembly in reverse order".
good luck,
