I have inherited a Remington rifle. A dealer told me that it was a 44-40 14 1/2 pump rifle. Can anyone tell me anything more about this rifle?

For basic information go to the Remington Arms web site. Press the block labled "Library" then "HISTORY". You should see the 14-1/2 listed. Then when you know the basics you can come back with specific questions. A general question like yours could require a book be written.

It would also be better if you posted under the rifle catagory rather than the shotgun catagory.
