Model 721 family heirloom
Model 721 family heirloom
I thought I would share some history on my dad's Remington model 721 in .270. He purchased the gun new in 1951 for $91. And over the years he shot numerous antelope, white tail deer, and mule deer, plus a black bear and an elk. The bobcat was taken in 1959. The non-typical whitetail buck in 1990. And dad was still hunting in 2013 at the age of 87. After he went to assisted living, my brother and I became the caretakers of his guns. I shot a nice 14 buck with his model 721 in 2014. That pleased him greatly. He passed at age 90. Enjoy the photos!

Re: Model 721 family heirloom
There is a long time 721 270 in my family too. Dad got it new in 1949 or 50. For many many deer hunts, it has passed from Dad to me to an Uncle and now my cousin. Other Remington 721s and one 725 is all I ever had a successful hunt with. Sometimes I did carry a Winchester Model 70 (pre 64 of course) and never saw a thing.
