Case has the same lock and hinges as circa 1873 case in Marcot's Remington, America's oldest gunmaker page 83

Case was re-felted decades ago, underneath is canvas varnished to the wood

I can't help identify the case. My best guess is, it's custom made, and could have been done by anybody with wood working experience.
