Model 24 Nickel Reciever??

Post by mosesiii21 »

I have a model 24 that was manufactured in 1927 according to the serial #. I was just wondering how many years and possibly how many total Model 24s were made with nickel recievers and blued barrels. Thanks to anyone for any and all info.

I don't believe there are any factory records of the number of nickeled rifles. I have seen a few nickeled 24s. Most were in 22 short.

Nickel Model 24

Post by mosesiii21 »

Thanks for the reply. My nickel 24 is .22 LR. I also recieved an email that there is no mention of nickel reciever 24s in John Gyde and Roy Marcot's new book "Remington 22 Rifles" and it also states in the book that the Model 24 was only supplied with a blue finish on both the receiver and the barrel. I don't know either way, but I have one. Thanks again.

Whomever said Roy's and my book doesn't mention nickeled M/24s needs to read page 136 again...... If he/she need further help, it's in the first paragraph of page 136.

Page 141 does state a blued barrel and receiver. All of the information on engraved, nickeled, and other special features is not usually repeated in the model recaps (page 141 for the M/24).
