Hi, all.
I'm new to the RSA forums but not new to Remington. I was an employee of Remington Arms from 1978-1991. The majority of my tenure with the company was in flield sales, stating in 1979. In 1991 the company decided to market their products, beginning in 1992, through rep groups and I went to work with the Frank Carter Company, in Atlanta, Ga., through 1995.
In the spring of 1992, I, and others, met with the principles of Ellett Brothers, a major distributor in Chapin, SC. Ellett had been purchasing special run firearms from Remington for a number of years and with the transition to a rep group, neither they, nor Remington, wanted to lose that incremental business.
After several meetings, we settled on producing a 552 BDL rimfire rifle to be designated "American Pride." There was a lot of correspondence between Remington and me regarding this rifle. I have all the correspondence as well as various designs for a roll engraving that were submitted to Ellett Bros. Time does not allow me to go into detail here but at the 11th hour, the deal was cancelled as there was to be a price premium, over and above a premium that Ellett had agreed to.
Only one rifle was engraved on the receiver, for the account to examine, and I bought that rifle.
I've sent numerous notes to Remington asking them to send a letter to me to authenticate the rifle but to no avail. Although they do acknowledge the existence of the rifle, and that it was produced in spring of 1992, they won't say it was engraved. I've asked for a name of someone at the company with whom I could speak about the gun but they haven't responded.
I'd like to insert a photo of the engraved receiver but I'm not sure how to do it. If anyone can help me with a contact at Remington, it would be helpful. I believe all those I knew have since left the company.

Re: 552 BDL American Pride
Thanks, Meadows. I'm sorry the project never came to fruition. I'm hopeful someone in the RSA will be able to point me in a direction of someone at Remington that would be able to get a letter to me attesting to the rifle's existence.
