ser # 22041, in front of the trigger guard, an RW is also there. Barrel has pedersens patent date ofjan 5, 1909

inner mag tube is steel, bolt is blued, 22 in round barrel

It's not a "pre" model 12 it's just a 12 before they started marking them.

It looks to be a Model 12-A (round barrel) made in 1910, it should say on the barrel.
If it's "shorts only" then it's a 12-B.
