MDL 700 (Police) Bi-Pod Slot?

Looking for some help. A local Orange County CA shop has 6 to 8 700s that were used by a local Police Swat team. All are very nice, with outstanding scopes. Anyway the one I picked up has a 12" slot, presumably for a bi-pod. I was wondering if this type of attachment has a name to try and find a suitable attachment.
