Remington Arms Co., Inc. introduced the 16-gauge Model 11 in 1931, serial numbers beginning at 1500000. According to the old Remington factory ledger, receiver 1525866 was put in production during August 1938. The barrel date code XG is December 1938 -- X = December, G = 1938. The roll stamping of the Duck and Pheasant scenes began appearing on Model 11s in 1937.
