Model 8 DOB?

I just picked up a very clean Model 8 in .35 Remington, serial number 148xx. I looked for date codes on the barrel, but there's nothing there - so I assume it was made prior to 1921. Any idea when it was manufactured?

Wow! 1909! Can't get over that! She was made 10 years before Theodore Roosevelt died.

All of the blue remains on her and she looks like she's all of maybe 10 years old - all bright and shiny. Sure doesn't look 98! Someone took great care of this baby that's for sure. They replaced the original butt plate with a Winchester recoil pad, but I can live with that.

I took her out to the range today for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised when she produced a inch and a half inch group at 50 yards. No doubt she shoots better than I can.

I'll take a picture and post it if I can figure out how.
