1889 hammer spring
1889 hammer spring
I see no one responded to my request for a hammer spring for my '89. I went on to drill the spring, turn a new pin from an aircraft bolt, then pressed it in and the gun is strong as new and back in action. I hope others who have a spring with a broken pin can find a way to do the same. It didn't take much and you can barely see that the pin is a replacement even with a magnifier. Sometimes we are only limited by our imaginations.

outstanding- sometimes you gotta take matters into your own hands-
and the newly serviceable part comes with a sense of accomplishment
too.

Way to go, Richard. I love the 1889s. I have a Parker (1882) that has a similiar problem that I'm going to have to tackle one of these days.
