Good evening. I have a Model 11, the serial number has been confirmed by Remington as a gun made in 1916.
I would like to shoot the gun, but don't want to damage it. It has been refinished so it is not a collector's piece, just a nice old gun.
My question is related to the friction rings. My gun has the bronze ring and the spring ring that goes around it. The spring is a square spring. Can I replace the friction rings (the bronze ring, the spring ring and the ring I am missing) with those from a Browning A5 safely. If not, where can I get replacements?
I have received conflicting information and wanted to get an answer from the Remington pros. Thanks for any help.
