28 gauge in 11-48

Per Remington: Introduced 1949, discontinued 1968. 455,535 produced, of which of which approximately 18,000 were 28 gauges. Doesn't say when introduced but researcher might know. The 28 is on the smaller sized receiver, my buddy has one. I haven't miked it, but it appears to be the same size as the current 20, 28, & 410 Model 1100 receivers.
