12A Barrel Code

Rem never used a Q or O to indicate the year on the barrel code. Sometimes the stamps are a bit hard to read. 1924 is the year of production for your M/12 from Rem records, but... The serial # narrows it down, but the date code gives the month/year of assembly. The second letter should be an "R" if 1924 is correct. An N, P S, or T are possible since a year or two from the published date are not unusual.
