Model 12 Drilled Receiver

Post by ZK »

Did the Remington Model 12 .22cal (serial number range of 704k) ever have a hole in the receiver just above and to the front of the take down screw? I have a model 12 and there is a hole drilled into the receiver. The hole is threaded and goes to the inside of the receiver exposing the internal "bolt". I can not find a single model 12 with the same hole mine has.

Thanks.

I am not aware of a model 12 with such a hole drilled and tapped in it. I have heard of such a hole there done by a gunsmith to mount a side mounted sight. I believe there was an after market peep sight made for the 12 like this. I think that is what you have. Jay Huber RSA
