Model 12 pump rifle

I have a model 12 pump 22 cal rifle with a grooved receiver, to mount a scope. Never saw one before, is this a rare gun? Serial range 798,000. thanks, Jim.

The receiver was grooved post-factory. Yours was made near 1930. Rem started grooving receivers in the mid-50s.
