Fluted cylinder Remington Rider Revolver.

Post by drm2m »

I am just getting into this in Canada.
I am waiting for photos from a guy that takes good photos.
What do I look for?
This is not his field of expertise.

I am principally a CW collector.

I gather that serial numbers on fluted cylinder Remington Rider revolvers would be quite low.....how low?

Any other markings to look for?

I received photos today.

Question ...the Sn on the barrel and on the rear of the cylinder do not match.

I was under the impression that Sns were stamped under the barrel and inside the left grip....and nowhere else.

On the barrel 819--on the rear of the cylinder 841.
(For whatever reason these photos did not upload.)

Does this Sn mismatch often happen with Remingtons?

Any ideas of what this gun might be worth?

I will try again with the photos that did not upload.

It only uploaded one of two photos.

Were the cylinders on fluted Rider DA revolvers serial numbered.
Sometimes....all the time....rarely?

The cylinder on this Rider DA has a different s/n on the barrel 819 with number 841 on the cylinder.

I have seen comments suggesting these might have been assembly numbers,
or is that a flawed theory?
