I have a Remington mod. 12 serial no. 65***. I guess mfg. date 1910 or 1911.
It's in very good condition. But. It was rebarreled by Remington in 1948. How does the rebarreling affect value. I've read that Remington seldome rebarreled guns. Anything anyone can come up with will be greatly appreciated.
I see your name is Slow Bob. I'll type this real slow so you can keep up when you read it (sorry, I couldn't resist).
Yours was made in 1911. Rem rebarreled quite a few rifles; specially those made when black powder cartridges were the norm. Original rifles are certainly preferred. A M/12 with a bad bore is not as valuable as one with a new barrel. The value of yours depends on how many original parts it still has; sights, wood, etc.
