The shell deflector was a factory option. I believe it was $.50.
The 234 simply matches the last three digits of the serial #. Most manufacturers did something similar so parts/guns could be put back together if more than one were dismantled at the same time for cleaning (like at shooting galleries).
If I understand your question about what # your rifle was "out of the plant"... I believe that serial #s on the M/24 started at 1 making yours #13234 "out of the plant"... Maybe I misunderstood the question???

The stamps on the side of the receiver started in 1925. I checked my records and the shell deflector actually cost $.10. I was way off at a quarter...
