The Model 11 was five-shot, and "The Sportsman" was the three-shot version, first introduced in the 1930-31 time frame at the same time the 20- and 16-gauge Model 11s were added to the offerings.

The magazine tubes on the Model 11 and "The Sportsman" are totally different as are the forearms. There is no way they interchange. Could be you have an aftermarket forearm or one from a different gun such as a Browning A5 or A3 or a Savage 720? We'll need to see pictures to even begin to guess.
