I have been meaning to post something about my dealings with Jim, and this seems like a good time to do it. My Model 14/25 caliber was brought back to life, after sitting on the rack since 1968, the last time it went into the woods. After a couple generations of family members failed to "fix" it, or even locate someone who could, I am proud to be the one who got it working again. Or, more accurately, the one who was smart enough to find this website, and nambujim-lol
Jim will be the first to tell you that he doesn't work for free. Then he gives you all sorts of free advice, fixes everything you thought was wrong, finds and fixes everything else you didn't even know was wrong, and sends it back to you. All of this takes place. apparently, in the middle of the night, and the rifle is on it's way back to you within a few hours of when he received it. I suspect there is magic involved, and I am almost positive that he only requires about 2 hours of sleep a week. In any case, those of us with Model 14's (and 141's) are very fortunate to have a "specialist" to work on our rifles. Thank you Jim, and RSA, for getting this rifle back into the woods where it belongs.
