1100 L591xxxV

Post by Rem725 »

I just got this 1100 with 30" full bbl and 25" imp cyl barrel. It is all original except the barrels, and in great shape. Googling tells me it is around 40 some years old. I intend to learn to shoot local trap type shoots. It was dry inside, but not dirty at all. I sprayed G96 and wiped it down. I will pick up a new o-ring. Do you recommend the other two rings get replaced as well? A new change choke barrel is available for about $235. I am told modified choke would be best for my use. I might sissy pad it. What is the best shotgun recoil pad? Anything else to know?

BTW you know me on the rifle department. I have been doing the 721, 722, 725 list there.

Shoot it before you go changing stuff. I have three older than yours - likely 1971 - and the only thing I have changed is two metal 'V' rings have been switched to 'O' rings so I don't lose them, and one extractor. The old style piston and piston seal work better than the new design in my opinion.
A Pachmyr, a Limbsaver, or a Supercell pad will all serve you well.
If you don't have one, I suggest you go to www.remington.com and download an owner's manual. Lots of good info in there.
What could have happened... did.
